A number of typical low airflow situations are caused by a number of reasons:
- Dirty air filter
- Air duct problems
- Fan and reasons for its malfunction
A dirty air filter prevents sufficient airflow.
Solution: Replace or clean an air filter if it's dirty.
Ventilation problems can restrict air movement.
Possible problems:
- Damaged ventilation duct
- Flex duct has kinks
Solution: Check ventilation ducts for damage on kinks. Otherwise, you will need to contact an air conditioner technician to find out ventilation problems.
Sometimes a fan causes poor airflow:
- Dirty fan blades
- Torn or frayed fan belt, if present (squeaky noise is heard during operation)
- Defective fan motor.
Contact a service center if you can't find a reason.
