Carriage closed shop?
I was talking to a neighbor who had a Carriage ordered. She said her unit was half way through the line and the bank came in and locked the doors? She said that they will not finish the coach at this time.. See topic here: http://rvdailyreport.com/news/id/164...rv-seeks-buyer

That's a shame. I thought they had some good units and had looked at them for purchase.

Its always sad when a RV manufactor goes under, the RV industry needs competition. It makes for a better industry. It appears from what I have read the failure is a management issue. I for sure don't believe its because of the the 5th wheel, the Carriage is a excellent RV. I really hope that someone with the Capitol and management ability buys up Carriage. Happy Trails....

I've been following the Carriage crash & burn for a while now.. So far it's not a rumor.. People are leaving in droves from upper management and going places like Thor "Redwood" line.. (I like the looks of these units but they have that good old Lippert Frame, only they call it "Falcon").. A bunch went to Evergreen RV, they're planning on comming out with a new line of high end 5th wheels now. (I guess to compete with Redwood & DRV, Hitch Hiker..ect.)
I've got the links to the articles where I got the info. but am not in the mood to go rummaging back in my notes to look for them..
Hope this helps, I was seriously thinking of getting a new Cariage Carri-Lite next summer. Now, I'm not so sure. A used unit might be alright, but if I could get a 2011 -2010 it should have remaining warrenty, but seeing as how they're out of busines I would want a heck of a discount on it because it doesn't have a warrenty.
Does anyone know if there are 3rd party warenties that are worth the paper they are written on? Most are JUNK!

Seems I have heard the Good Sam warrantys are ok--you just need to read them to see what is covered and the cost. At least, a lot of service firms are familiar with it.

Sad but looks like Carriage, hay be gone? But you never know. As for as a warranty on a RV were the company is out of business, there will be no money to pay for the work! Now if you have a extended warranty its possible you can get your money back on repairs... Happy Trails.....
