Center Island

Just go back from a short trip to MD Anderson in Houston, and found that the center island had shifted. Anyone else had that issue? Anyone offer advice on how to get underneath to check the hold down screws?

On ours (39DBRS3) after a particularly fun ride I found our center island shifted.
What I found was disturbing.
After removing the garbage bin drawer and the drawer under the dishwasher I found that DRV used only FOUR screws to attach the island to the floor.
They were long screws that looked similar to Kreg pocket screws, about #10 in size.

We have a 2007 Carriage Carri-Lite 5th wheel. I also found that the island was only screwed down to the main floor with a few long-ish wood screws. I had originally thought it might be bolted down to framing, but as with many other things in RV land, they made it the cheapest fastest way possible. I should note that our island has never shifted. The good part of it only being screwed down was that it was fast & easy for me to remove it when my wife decided it was time for new flooring.

Nothing wrong with screwing down the Island with proper screws.

With "proper screws" and the appropriate number. And I'll add, there should be backing under the screw location.

The 4 screws keeping my island in place were obviously insufficient in quantity and size-type.

We finally fixed ours, or I should say my wife fixed it. The space under the dishwasher is really tight and the two screws there were not even screwed down. Anyway, put 4 under the sink, 6 around the trash bin frame and replaced the two under the dishwasher.
