We have a quick connect in our fifth wheel and have never had a problem with it. We do have a toggle switch to turn off the propane to the line before disconnecting. Any remaining propane that *might* escape is so infinitesimally small as to not be a concern...it doesn't even set off our propane detector which is very near the quick connect.
