Welcome to the world of Carriage slide motor problems. We have 2007 Carri-Lite 37 foot with the same motor setup. In past years I've had several issues with the gear, the motor housing and the spacing but got them worked out with the help of a machinist friend. I carry a couple of spare motors and gears with me all the time, but thankfully have not had to swap one out while on a trip since 2016. Your issue may be caused by excessive wear in the cast housing on the end of the motor where the main shaft is. Over time that round hole becomes oval shaped, allowing some play that lets the gear skit. I also found that some of the gears wear quickly if they are not nicely engaged. One other issue I had was the threaded mounts on that cast metal end breaking off. Whichever problem(s) you have, you don't need to spend a fortune on a new motor assembly, which was over $500.00 when I looked last. I have a bunch of photos of what I have done to mine. Of the four slides, I have had to re-work three of them, but they now work reliably. Send me an email at davew@skynet.ca and I'll send you more info of what I did.
