When I ordered my trailer I did so with the Magnum 3000 hybrid. I would think that would be plug and play. Although If you have the older remote I think I would upgrade that as well just for the extra features - functionality.

I don't know about efficiency difference but the main feature is the 3K hybrid can supplement the shore power line voltage if your demand is exceeding supply.

This is something you will see when on 30 or 20 amp service.
