This happened to me and it started overflowing out the fill cap.

Turn off the outside water source and try running your 12 volt onboard water pump for a while and do this every so often if you don't use the pump much.

Someone gave me the advice mentioned above and it cured the problem.

Guess somehow there is some part of the system which needs to be "exorcised" periodically to keep it from going bonkers!!
