Our previous truck was 4x4 and the whole time we had it I never used the 4 wheel drive. Most, maybe 90% of these trucks are 4x4. When we went shopping for a newer truck I found a nice 4x2 and bought it. So far happy with the truck. I found the 4x2 was easier to get level with our 5th wheel.
One other thing is you get a couple hundred pounds more payload...not a big difference. Basically only you know what you need. It is good to hear other peoples experiences though. And it's better to have more truck than you need. Good luck
