Friend has a 3500 long box, SRW, and his 18s are 3250lbs.
Even at 3250/tire, the rear tires are going to be badly overloaded with a 4200lb pin weight.

I don't know about your buddys truck but the new 2012 3500 trucks come from the factory with Goodyear wrangler tires rated at 2601 each. That't 5602 total . The payload for the truck is listed at 4125. The RR axel rating is 7050
found on the driver side door.
