Very hesitant on sending this but here is my 2cents. Not going to get into a Peeeeeeeeee match with the weight police. If you already have the 3500 short box give it a try. I have seen many towing DRVs with just a 3/4 ton. So I guess the 1ton 3500 would work just fine. Any slider type hitch would be needed. I have the 3500 but it is long box and Dually works for me.
