Inverter/converter

Question to those that use an inverter for AC when dry camping. When using an inverter are you getting the 12v supply to the 12v lights ect. in the coach or do you still have to have the converter for that? In other words do you need an inverter and a converter? I would like to be able to use an inverter for short periods of time when shore power is lost. I have read some of the specs on inverters and there is no indication of a 12v output except to the charger for the batteries.
