Keeps the heater cord from being a trip hazard, and sufficient wiring for the load.

It is interesting with regards to changes over the years. On our 2010 MS, we have outlets in our bedroom at the cabinet above the dresser and one each at both of the "night-tables" by our bed and then one more on the wall near the off-door side of the closet. There is yet another under the bed for the pump for our Select Comfort bed, but that one is pretty much a dedicated outlet just for that pump.
