Just left the factory service center with this issue, or so it seems. They are not letting anyone in the shop, so it's hard to say, but it was clear that most of the screws holding the cap in place were broken. The tech stated that he added some "backing" and replaced the screws.
Guess I will have to watch some of the referenced videos and dig into this myself if I want it fixed correctly. Was not very impressed with the workmanship at the factory service center. That said, they were nice and did fix most of the little items that were on the list.
Given the amount of posts I've seen where people have had this issue, it's clear that DRV/Thor has a design or manufacturing issue. Even with an IS, it's still an earthquake rolling down the road.
It's just crazy the decline in workmanship and customer service over the past several years. But that's another thread for a different forum....
Loose end caps are a real issue. DRV should just own it and take care of its customers without fuss.
