OK, problem solved. If anyone else is wondering how to get their remote working here's what you need to do. Make sure the batteries in the remote are charged properly. Then manually turn the fireplace on using the on/off switch mounted on the fireplace. Then click the remote power switch while aiming it at the fireplace. If the remote is working properly the fireplace will shut off and the remote will now be programmed and will function properly. The manual does not explain this, “Go Figure”!!!!!

If anyone needs a remote let me know and we'll figure something out. I have an extra one.
