I also belong to the Dieselplace forum and agree with the stepper motor diagnoses.
Stripit thanks for the offer. I have ordered 8 of the motors online and will replace all 7 in my gages cluster as I don't want my oil, temp, or fuel gages giving false readings. 1 will be my backup.

I have over 120K on the truck so it would not be covered by the recall but the fact that GM has the recall helps in the proper diagnoses.

I'm using my GPS for the speedometers now so I'll wait till I'm settled in Yuma before tackling the job.

Thanks all for the reply. Seems that if it can happen it will happen to me!
