I am a full timer 4 seasons and spent two winters in Minnesota and Iowa. I know they have a lot of insulation which is a big help. You still need to skirt. That was the biggest selling point for me....

Great pointers. Thanks. Removing the table and taking it outside to refinish sounds a lot more logical than doing it in place. Your pointers will make that task a little easier.

I pulled off some of the corner molding and...

I pulled off some of the corner molding and pulled the step out about 3/16 from the wall. I applied glue to the mating surfaces and pushed it back in. The step seems to be ridged for now.
