It takes 3 days to drain my fresh water tank. I like to keep about 1/3rd full at all times, just in case the water at the park goes out or to use when traveling. But when I want to replace with fresh water it takes forever. Am I the only one with this problem? And what do you do to make it drain faster than a slow drip? The valve is completely open, and I even turned on the pump but that did nothing. I have checked as far as I can reach and could find no kinks in the line. Guess I could pull one of the rings on the cold water line and turn on the pump, but that dont seem right. As I am not able to flush/sanitize the tank properly, any help would be appreciated.

Just a thought - have you tried opening the fresh water fill cap.

That will prevent a vacuum.

First of all, congratulations on finding the drain tap. The flow is slow and no solution around it unless you purge from the water pump.

The design of the water inlet to the tank being unaccessible except by pressurized hose to fill have really created some problems with me re "how do you fill the water tank when you are sitting stationary and doing washing" and no water supply is near the rig???

I purchased a water bag from camping world which I fill at the water station and then have an electric pump to get the water into the tank.

The other issue I have is that we have lost our monitor level on our fresh water tank and we have been waiting on a fix from DD.

The fresh water tank is buried into the gut of the rig and DD is trying to come up with a solution to get our monitor working properly.

thanks

We use the washer to drain the tank faster. A couple loads of laundry, a couple showers and most of the tank is gone. Draining the dregs takes just a little bit.

We also turn on the pump and let it augment the city water when showering, or just turn off the city water.

Draining it is a real pain for sure! When winterizing, I use compressed air in the fill hole with a rag and it drains a lot faster.
