I have a 2006 36TK3 I've replaced one shock last year and 3 shocks broke the mount this year. Has anyone had any problems with their shocks?

I have, the nut came undone and the stud came out of the welded hole and got all bent up on the leaf spring. The end of the stud was about a 1/4 of a inch away from tearing up the tire. This happen to two of them at the same time while going 65mph I was lucky.

This item has been discussed some time ago. There were several cases of the shock brakets breaking because of poor welding to the frame by the Lippert folks. I found one of my shocks hanging and took my unit to the dealer and they rewelded all of the shock mounts. If you have had one come loose I suggest you do the same.

Could be your suspension is too low and the shocks are bottoming out. Get under your unit and check the travel in your shocks.

This could be the cause of the shock breaking off along with the welded mounts.

I had the same problem with the shocks .

I had the suspension raised so there was some travel in the shocks

Does anyone know if changes to the shocks are required if the suspension height is changed to the lower set of holes (raising the trailer ride-height)?
Since this would require longer shock travel, was wondering if the shock travel limits would be exceeded.

When I "lifted" our TK3 I added 5/8" spacers to each end of each shock. The threaded studs are long enough to accommodate the spacers and this puts the shock travel back in the factory range.

I just had my shock problem corrected under warranty. They welded square tubing behind the shock brackets and it seems alot better. The dealer had a 2008 ES on the lot and that is what is on it.

Nothing has to be changed on the shocks when you lower the the spring shakles to the low holes.

The factory lowered mine in order to keep the shocks from bottoming out. I had damage 3 of the 4 shocks, replaced them and damaged the new shocks before getting back to the factory for their cure.

They had also replaced the spring when I was in AZ thinking they were bad but that was not the case.

All of my shocks broke on the first trip.
Long story.......short...........the factory had set the suspension on the lowest setting and there was not enough travel room for the shocks. Reset the suspension, installed new shocks.........volla...life is good again!!!!
