When touring the factory a couple of weeks ago our tour guide pointed out that Doubletree replaces the outside plastic housing on zerk fitting on the Mor-ryde and Equa-flex with brass to keep it from wearing. Then he pointed out that the Zerk fitting should be greased twice a year. It was news to us! Looked through manuals didn't see anything in regard to greasing fittings. Good thing though, when under the trailer I discovered our black tank had one side with two screws not in to anything.

Bur first you'll have to remove all of the shackle bolts and re-install them from the inside so you can get a grease gun on them as Doubletree installs them from the tire side!

I am not familiar with the Mor=-ride. Can't youjust pull the wheel to get to the fitting? Is the axle "never lube"?

We can reach our equa-flex from between the tires to grease them.

Another alternative is to get a different end for your grease gun. There are several options available, depending on location and the angle of the zerk.

I just replaced them all with 90 degree grease zerks for something like $3.00. One thing I have noticed though is that sometimes the fitting won't take the grease. But, I found that if I take the weight off the shackle with a bottle jack, the grease goes in easily. The straight zerks installed by the manufacturer are an example of the designer never using the product. It wouldn't cost an extra cent to put in 90 degree zerks,

Thanks, we did have a few not taking the grease, I'll try your idea!

I wonder if you would just take a wrench and turn the bolt a quarter of a turn at a time it might take grease. By turning it the weight of the trailer would not be over the hole where it must come out to grease the bolt. I have the TrailAir suspension and did have to purchase a differant end for my grease gun, have only greased them once so far, will do it again in the spring when we return from Texas.
