DH and I have our MS 36RS3 on order. Should be here by end of March.
F350 4X4 with Tow Boss should be in next week.
Haven't made a definite decision on hitch.

We are excited about becoming members of the Mobile Suites Family.

Any tips on what to check out during walk thru?

Make sure your truck has the proper brake controller before you leave, know where the reset 12 volt switch is, check burner on stove top and all lights. Get them to turn on the water valve for your ice maker if you have one and get them to show you where the phone/computer connections are. If the dealer will, get them to put in your satellite receiver and check to make sure it works. Also, get them to work the remotes for everything and the hot water. If you have a generator, get them to turn it on and show you how it works. If you have questions, be sure to ask any and everything before you leave. I'm sure you'll love your new home like the rest of us.

I would recommend taking notes as they go through each item. The manual that comes with the unit has a lot to be desired. We had a list of questions written down before we arrived and that helped us remember what we wanted to ask. We did not allow them to rush us through the walk through.

Your 4x4 has 500lbs less towing capacity than the 2 wheel drive F350. Did you get the duel wheel F350? Check the weight.

We wanted a 2 wheel drive but those are few and far between. Had to settle on 4 wheel drive duelly with Tow Boss. 2 wheel had to be ordered and that didn't fit with time frame of when trailer would be in.

At the Yahoo group there are 2 different PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection)check list that can be down loaded from the files section at this link-
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/mobilesuites/files/

To these list I would add check out the entertainment system for correct wiring as DT has had a problem of getting all component hooked up correctly from day ONE.
Also have them use the black tank flush to be sure the check valve has been installed correctly.

Definitely take notes during the PDI. We forgot many of the things because we went over unit once before delivery to give them a list of upgrades in satellite & internet wiring. We went over it again for a shorter time a week later on delivery. But since we are fulltimers, it didn't take us long to figure almost everything out with the help of the Forum.

FYI: We've also looked at the 2008 F series trucks. Local dealership has only 4x4's in the F350's & the F450's (only in 4x4) aren't arriving for the next 6-8 wks. Unfortunately, we're going to be on to our next project before they arrive. So we didn't get to test drive one yet. But we did sit in the F250's while it idled.
The 2008 F350 4x4 CC isn't rated high enough for a 20k Elite & at 17,700 still isn't enough for our 18.5k ES or many of the MS's models with the MSS upgrade. Many Suite new Suite owners can only consider the F450 to upgrade at 24k 4x4 or 24.5k w 4x2.

SUITEDIVER,
A small camcorder would be your best friend during the walk through.. to much to remember. go through this site and write ALL the common things down so they can check to make sure they are corrected.. plan on staying on their lot for at least a couple of days to check out all the systems.. there are a BUNCH of them to check out and they will not want to stay with you while you check them out... make up a checklist of all the systems to check out.. take some small hand tools with you if you are handy.. check out the tightness of all the hose clamps you can reach in the utility compartment.. be careful to not over tighten them.. I had one blow off last night at the filter outlet. the clamp was stripped. these small things crop up from time to time but overall we are very happy with our "suite Home".
I wish you as much enjoyment from yours as we are having with ours..
enjoy,
John and Annie

Hi there,

Make sure you have them demonstrate the entertainment system for you. It's one of the recurring peeves for the group as it's not always setup properly from the factory. If you got a satelite TV system make sure it works properly before you head out.

When we got our rig the dealer had their own RV park. That worked out great as it took us 2 weeks to get the washer installed (it was inoperative at delivery) and get other glitches taken care of. We spent a third week back there after other things either broke or came loose on the first drive away from the dealer.

Took delivery of our 36RE3 today. It is beautiful. Very pleased with the oak cabinets and sienna red decor. Will post pictures as soon as we get everything organized.

Hi there, did you get and RE or an RS? Not picky just curious.

Not sure where I found the originals - could have been in the forum mentioned by Hobo

Reformatted and paged - works a bit better

Files both in MSword and Acrobat

Have sent a copy to our dealer - we're picking our MS36TK3 in early June. We we are planning to go through the list together - may take some time - but that's what lists are for

Can you tell I was a little tired last night. We got a 36RS3. Towed it back to Admiralty RV park in San Antonio from Southwest in New Braunfels. Towed great. Didn't get much accomplished today but will hit it hard tomorrow and it things more organized so we can start enjoying it more.

The one thing that we did not check at PDI was the water pump.

Have the service tech splash water in the tank and use the pump. We have the Shurflow 5.7 Extreme and it still pulses like a cheap pump.

Trying to find a kink or other obstruction now.

If you do not have the experience of problems you can have with a RV, take a friend who has.
Ask for the check list the dealer gets you to sign when you accept your unit and check everything (and I mean everything) on it personally before you sign it. This will save you trips back and forth to the dealer on things that has been missed. Don't sign the check list until everything is fixed to your satisfactsion.

Pullrite makes an excellent hitch and stands firmly behind it.
