Not sure that this is not a doctored video, but worth watching anyway:

During the regeneration cycle for the diesel particulate filter, apparently some open flame may exit the exhaust pipe!!! Ford has a TSB out to modify the computer program that causes this. There has been a delay in selling new 6.4s until they have the software change, plus any new ones out have to be brought in for the change.

Rumors of this, plus the other extra emissions addons prompted me to just buy a new '07 F350 DRW for the 36TK3 I just acquired.

Ford has a beautiful new truck, then this. Cannot help sales in the long run.

I have had the fix done on mine. Unburnt fuel used to escape down the tailpipe and iginite generating white smoke. I noticed it a couple of times in the first 1000 miles. Would also lose power when this happened. With the modification the computer puts on check engine light and shuts down the truck leaving you stranded. Hasn't happened yet but I'm sure it will.

Have have our new truck about 1 month
Just about 5000 km (3100 miles)
Most of the distance towed 2007 MSTK3
No problems with the "regeneration" - i.e. no flames, smoke or loss of power.
One "regeneration" just as I was parking the rig - stepped on brake - "regeneration" stopped.

So far
- 12L/100KM - 19.6 MPG - without trailer
- 22L/100KM - 10.7 MPG - with trailer

We luv both truck and trailer!

Just picked up a New F350 . We put 1500 miles on it last week the milage was not too good ,but I know that we have to get some miles on it. We got 9.3 towing our Cardinal and about 14.5 solo . Well I'm not complaining yet . We sure like the ride too.

We had a 2003 F350 with the 6.0. My son in law no has it with about 90,000 I think we have changed the alternator, and one sensor. Other wise it has been perfect. I have a 2005 F350 with 60,000 miles and the 6.0 diesel. No problems at all. We take both in for service at each 30,000 miles. We hange the engine oil filters at 12,000, and run the Mobil Delvac 1 around 9000 to 12,000 miles. I think a big key to the 6.0 is to keep fuel additive in the fuel. We use Stanodyne. The dealer recommend this and told me that the customer that are running the Stanodyne faithfully are not haveing problems.

Sorrry I posted this to the wrong post. This should have been on are How is your 6.0 doing.

I have the rig in signature. What a tow machine. The Montana is only about 12,000 lbs loaded but really smooth towing. Had a Chev 2500HD, 8.1, SWD. Big difference in stability.

Anyway, really love the truck.
