Slideout Lube

I thought about using grease but whoudnt the dirt & grime stick to it from gravel roads? My owners manual doesn't say anything at all about maintenance on the slide.
Would silicone spray be enough of a lube?

Check your owners manual. Some say no lube.

On my rig, when the slides are IN, the rails and mechanisms are not exposed so I would think that using a good grease should work just fine..

I would highly recommend a dry Teflon lube. You spray it on and after a few minutes it dries to a white film. Using any kind of moist grease will attract dirt and dust. I guarantee you will have dirty grease in a matter of days on the road. I use Teflon on my slide gears and arms. Every few months I wipe it down and put on a new coat. I have never had any problems or squeaks.

My friends and I use a silicone spray about once a month . Seems to work well, and we use it on our seals around the slideout also. I tend to think that the grease will pick up a lot of dirt also.

My RV dealer recommends silicone spray only.

I use "slide lube" that I got from the dealer, keeps it quiet. Cost about $10, lasts awhile. Also use it on the rear stab jacks and door steps.

I use a plain old wax candle to rub a thin coating of parafin in the slide mechanism. It stays on pretty well and doesn't collect grit.

You are going to have to post much more than that to get help. Is the motor running when you push the button? Does part of the slide start to come out but the other end remain stationary? Does it work when you manually crank the slide?

It has 3 slides the bedroom works but the other two do not. Nothing happens at all when trying to open the main and oppsing room. Trying to figure out how to manually pull them out (any Ideas would help). It has fluid in it i am thinking it might have air in the lines. gonna try to bleed them.

It is impossible to diagnose this without all the info. In this post you indicate it's a hydraulic system. That is new information you left out earlier.

What brand and model trailer do you have?

Is the hydraulic fluid topped off?

What happens when you push the button on the inoperative slide? Does the pump run at all? If it does run, does the pump sound like there is a load on the pump or is it free spinning with no load. In other words does the pump sound different on the 2 inoperative rooms than the functional one?

Have you checked the hydraulic manifold, hoses and rams for leaks?

If you have a mobile suites trailer, there are knurled knobs on the hydraulic manifold. All of the knob should be turned counter clockwise as far as they will go.

has anyone tried using "Triflo", its sold in of all places sewing shops, it goes on wet and dries to a film. I have used it on all kinds of applications but was unsure is I should use it on my slide rails?
