Where is the fresh water tank

Where is the fresh water tank located (40KSSB4)? Is it with the tanks behind the sliding doors in the storage bay? Or is it in front of the storage bay?

It is approx. under where the steps go into your coach. Step in the front door and it's under your feet.

It’s directly behind and below the gray water tank.

If you look from the outside, door side behind and below the furnace and it’s about 3” above the bottom of the frame rails.

Seems odd to have insulation on top of the tank. I would want the heat from the basement to keep the tank from freezing?

What are the two brass male pipes for?

Due to a water filter canister failure I had reason to remove the corroplast to replace wet insulation and inspect.

Mine did not fall but the 1/16” steel EL supports that is secured with self tapper was loose, twisted and probably would fail since we tend to start out with full fresh water.

I did reinforce the tank. I tried the typical angle steel others have used but when I did a full tank test it wasn’t much better.

I added steel rectangular box tubing. That worked great.

Thanks. I’m gonna have to drop the underbelly and check my tank. I generally only carry about 20% when traveling. And empty when we get to a longer destination.
I had water dripping through the insulation around the front, ODS jack. I never noticed this until we arrived in TX for the winter Two things lead to the tank. 1 - If it was a leak from the roof I can’t figure a path to the jack other than somehow making it around the BR slide. 2 - when I auto level, the ODS side is always 0.2 degree lower than the DS (different conversation). We’ve had more humidity than rain, so the A/C water always drips on that lower side. For it to come from a roof leak would mean it would have to run down, around the slideout, back under the slide then down to the jack. I know water can leak in from a place nowhere near to the drip, but this path is nowhere near the path of least resistance. Then I noticed a week or so ago that the drip stopped. There is still plenty of heat and humidity at the present and plenty of A/C run off, so the tank is my next logical guess (residual water in the tank after dumping it). So I’ll have to drop the underbelly under the tanks to check for dampness. I can’t think of any place else. All of the water lines are dry behind the water panel as well as behind the sliding panels in the storage bay.

Look at the back side of your KantLeak assembly. I replaced with updated model. Mine sent water to drip down behind the drivers side front RAM.

I have a '09 elite suite 36tk3 , slide open street side inside door, follow fresh water tank fill hose from exterior utility compartment to tank.

I did not see a visible leak but that must’ve been the problem area. I
We’re in a new [to us] CG for the winter and a couple of weeks ago we had a few nights below freezing. Not knowing if they shut the water off, I filled my fresh tank then set the valve back to normal. A week later I noticed that the water around the front ODS jack was drying up and no more dripping. So by rotating the valve that O-ring must have reset. No more drip.

I’ll be at the DRV rally in June, I’ll ask them to replace the valve.

I don't know if you got the answer or not, but those fittings are for the spray function of the black and grey tanks. That side of the RV is the door side since the uplift of the frame for the overhang is to the right in the image.

Terry, thank you! That makes total sense now as my vacuum breakers are right above there in the bathroom.
