Lippert Leaking

Good Day!
I think my o-ring/washer is no longer stopping the hydraulic fluid from leaking out. It appears to be between the reservoir and its attachment to the pump. Any way to order a new washer?

Can you remove it and take it to a hydraulic shop? They ought to be able to match it.

Might go to Lippert website, they have a lot of diagrams with parts numbers available, or call them with your pump number...

I am dealing with the same problem. They not only did not have a replacement o-ring available, they could not tell me where to get one or exactely what size it is. Lippert's response was to soak and clean the existing o-ring and use Permatex red or orange to seal. I did that and it did not work. I found a fatter o-ring at Napa and installed it yesterday, it still leaked. I'm now looking for an even fatter/deeper o-ring to try. I may resort to making a gasket myself as I'm tired of taking it apart, dealing with the ATF cleanup.

Thak you! Very informative post. I anticipated what you cite. Sad that Lippert is so impotent on this fix.

Normally, they handle customer requests better then this. Have you considered taking the o-ring to a hydraulic shop? It has to be oil-proof to last, so regular rubber o-ring won't work for long even if it does stop the leak.
Or, call RollingRetreats in Elk City, OK. Slade or Jason may be able to help. Pump model # will also help.

I tried a larger o-ring and it leaked worse. At this point I'll try anything as we have a trip planned in a few weeks, I'll give Rolling Retreats a call.

I'm now inclined to remove the pump from the cramped compartment and bring it to a local pump repair company so they can seal it up professionally.

Another update. The 2 quart reservoir has a hard plastic "collar", that collar attaches to the pump with 4 screws. The hydraulic repair shop determined the leak is not around the o-ring, it is leaking from the inside edge of the collar where there is a small bump "imperfection" you can feel on the inside edge. I cleaned the edges with rubbing alcohol and used JB Weld Plastic to seal all around. Filled it this morning but there's still a (smaller) leak. I just spoke with Lippert again before I order a new reservoir to make sure the collar is attached (as the picture does not show a collar). Sadly their response is that although they sell new reservoirs they do not sell the collar that goes with it. Their only solution is to buy a complete new pump unit. I do not understand how such a successful RV company can be so lame with tech support or replacement parts. Rock and a hard spot for me this time.

Possible RV salvage yards for a complete pump/reservoir? Colaw in Carthage, MO, might be a place to check. Should be other brands using the Lippert setup.

So far this summer we have had 34 days over 110 degrees and I've run out of patience working on this in the sun. We have reservations later this month for the Grand Canyon which will be in the low 80's and we need to cool off. Lippert wanted $1125 for a complete new unit, I found it on Amazon for $900 and bit the bullet, it will be here tomorrow,

My new pump is installed and there are no leaks. I now have a spare motor that will disappear into my shed never to be needed again. The financial hit is upsetting but I'm more peaved that Lippert could not, or would not be more helpful. I did not have a faulty pump, I had a deformed reservoir/collar. They would sell a complete unit pump/reservoir, or a reservoir with no collar and no
way to attach it to the pump. Nice way to extort me to buy the complete setup.
