Installing risers on 39resb3 & setting up truck

Before I install risers on 5th wheel I need input on the height of my truck.
When towing should the rear end of the truck be at factory height? Should the truck be level front to back or Should the back be slightly higher then the front?
I have a 2018 ram 3500 4x4 dually, b&w hitch mounted 2in in front of back axle & at the lowest setting. I plan on moving the hitch to the center height so I have a little room for adjusting if needed.

I have a 15 DRW RAM 4x4. My B&W hitch is full forward on the lowest setting. My truck sets "LEVEL" with my RAW of 9,750#. I do have rear air ride to keep the load level. Your RV should put your truck near level.

I strongly advise to keep the hitch FULL FORWARD with the head supports straight side towards the cab.

I have a bit over 6" clearance at the tailgate.

My RV sets at 13' 5" with 3" risers.

Your truck should look like this with RV attached and ready for the road.

is your truck level before you hook up? My back end seems pretty high and when I hook up my headlights are high. I only put about 25lbs of air in bags because the trailer is way out of level. Unloaded the front of my truck is a about 39in and the back is about 42 in. Ground to fender. Morryde wants to know what height I want to ride at and I have no clue

B & P, are you going to MORryde for the risers?

If so I would suggest you adjust your hitch to middle setting (high/low), I would also follow Cummins' suggestion as to front/back adjustment. IF you're going to MORryde they will measure your trailer and determine what amount of rise you're going to need. They added 2" to ours and it rides nice and level. Like Cummins I have the air ride rear suspension, truck rides LEVEL with any amount of weight on it! I LOVE that rear air suspension!! :mrgreen:

It sure does! That's the beauty of the air ride suspension, it automatically adjusts the height for the load on board.

If you're going to get the risers at MORryde, set your hitch, get your truck level WITH your trailer on and have MORryde determine what amount of rise you're going to need to achieve "level" with your trailer.

My old '06 RAM 3500 would run nose high with the trailer on it until I installed air bags to "assist" the truck to the level position. Now I don't have to mess with level adjustments, truck AND trailer are ALWAYS riding level! :mrgreen:

Whan you go to MORryde "THEY" will determine what size riser you need. YOU need to have hitch set to 6" bed clearance and they will go from there. With 6" and then they raise RV the bed clearance will increase some.

My truck looks exactly like it does above without a load in ALT ride mode.

Since you have added bags like I did on my 11 DRW and MS I ran 30psi LOADED and truck sat "LEVEL" as it should.

You must be adding 25psi BEFORE hitching. The pressure goes up after hitching. I would be at 5psi unloaded and about 30 once loaded.

You WANT your truck to ride level or 1" rear high no more. This will give a great ride keeping it on the overloads ALL the time!

After weighting the truck hitched up The front axle was 100lbs lighter. Taking your advice about adjusting hitch head to the forward most position and center height should solve my problem.

Moving your hitch to the forward position "may" not solve your axel weight difference. Lowering your hitch so your trailer is closer to level will help even out those axel weights. IMHO the higher you're nose is from level the MORE weight you'll be transferring to the rear axel. I'm pretty sure Ron (Cummins) will agree. Traveling as close to level is going to keep your weights equal on BOTH axels and that's what you want. Just my 2 cents tho. :mrgreen:

From the time my RV was new it has gained some weight.:rolleyes: I was just showing the relationship between risers and no risers.
