One of my ceiling lights has started strobing. I can’t get the fixture off to replace it. I know it’s just a quarter turn to get it off but I can’t get it to move barehanded. Any ideas on getting it loose without tearing the soft touch ceiling or shattering the fixture cover?
Thanks

I use a big pliers or pipe wrench, put a towel between the ceiling, glass and wrench. I tried a strap wrench but didn't work as good as a hard tool. Also the towel doubles to catch any glass clips ifffff that were such.

You could try holding an ice pack as you want the glass to contract.

I use a piece of that non slip rubber that we all use between our dinner plates.

I would try a scissor type oil filter wrench with a piece of rubber mat. The wrenches come in different sizes and are adjustable..

I left it alone until command electronics reopened and I was able to purchase replacement LED wafers. Surprisingly it unscrewed easily. My “attic” is pretty warm now with the spring sun beating down on it so I guess the metal housing expanded.
I ended up replacing three on the same circuit. The two adjacent to the bad one began strobing while I was procrastinating and I thought it was the Christmas tree light effect but they kept strobing after I replaced the original defective wafer. Not sure if the bad one caused the others to fail or if it was a coincidence. I’ve got a few more giving trouble intermittently now. I thought these LEDs were good for ten years. Guess I was wrong.
Thanks for all the suggestions,
Phil

Command Electronics had a bad batch a while ago. When I called they asked me to send them a picture of the wafer and the info stamped on it. They notified within an hour and said mine were part of that bad batch. They sent me 50 replacements for free for all of my lights. I am replacing them as they go bad.

I'm going to check in to this as I received some replacements from the factory to replace the continuing failures from a 2015 built. Now the newer replacement lamps are failing.
