My Shurflo 4048 died and I'm looking for a new pump. The 4048 seems to be the highest 4 GPM and 55 PSI that I can find. It was a good pump but noisy. What's the popular pump now? I want good pressure for a nice shower! Thanks

Good luck, let us know what you end up with and if it is a good one. Just replaced one with a low level model and it pulses badly.

Thanks Joe, not sure what to do except to get another 4048. Two to three months a year we pump water into the camper from a 450 gallon container in the back of a pickup. So that means my water pump gets to do 'laundry' lol. It works pretty hard doing that and I think the 4048 lasted three years. I was hoping for a new improved one on the market.

There are some new 'improved' models available, all touting higher pressures/volumes. Looked at some, checked reviews, decided not to try one of them. But the pulsing on my replacement is bugging me to figure out a better pump. Old one did not pulse...just quit shutting off. Kept running, not pumping water. Always something..

That's for sure! I've seen small pressure tanks, wonder if that would take care of the pulsing? But then again I read with the variable pumps that wouldn't work.

Wish there was more in the basement of these rigs.

On our boat we had the same water pumps that the RV’s use.
But I also had a 1/2 horsepower 120v centrifugal pump. Coupled with an accumulator tank we had great water flow with barely perceptible pressure change. And you couldn’t hear the pump, only the relay clicking on and off if you listened closely.

When I had a 07.5 MS Shurflow replaced mine for free even at 5 years old. Seems like it was an upgraded unit.
