Would like some help -

Tow vehicle = 2018 Silverado 3500. It is 4x4 with SB

Curb is 7,548
GVWR is 11,400
GCWR is 25,300 (5th wheel)
Payload is 3,800

Rear Gross Axle is 7050
Front Gross Axle is 5600

Question - I would like to purchase a Sandpiper FKOK

- GVWR of 15,500
- Hitch 2,256
- UVW of 12,823
- CCC 2,677

Do I have enough truck to safely town this? I am not certain I am using the calculators appropriately and help is appreciated.

Freddie, it would be my opinion that you would be in the safety envelope, but just barely. Elliot gave you some advice on your other post that I agree with. And I believe your pin weight on that sandpiper will end up being just north of 3000 to 3200 pounds. Remember this is just my opinion. CAT scales tell the truth.

From my experiance, most single rear wheel pick up trucks empty are about 3,000
lbs on the back axle including the hitch and fuel. Your truck rear axle gross is 7050 lbs and if your 20% hitch weight from a 15,000 lb trailer (3,000 lbs) your going to have a slight cushion of capacity. In my opinon

Ditto, looks like you will just make it, but you won't have much wiggle room left.

Check the carrying capacity of the truck tires as well.

From all the numbers, it will boil down to the actual weight on the rear axle before he puts the 3k pin weight on it--going to be close, but as long as he stays under the tire capacity....
