I have been researching trailer jockey wheels, trailer valets, trailer movers and anything else I can find to facilitate parking my 5th wheel on a tight pad next to my house. I have an idea, I think would greatly improve any ones ability to park a 5th wheel in limited areas, at home or away. What if I were to mount a hitch on the front of the trailer under the overhang between the front landing gear jacks? Then use an appropriate electric mover connected to that hitch to move the trailer. Another idea is to use two valets in place of the pads on the two landing gear jacks. They could be removable or just raised up, as the jacks are. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

Just about anything can be moved with enough power and gearing. Building something to have both of those AND be strong enough to support the pin weight of the fiver is something else. Several movers on the market for TTs, might start looking at one of those for some mods...
Take a look at these pics:

Not stout enough to move our trailer, but you get the idea.

It might be less expensive to buy a used fork lift - my dealer uses one- or a used tractor, both of which can be readily adapted. The tractor could also be used for many other things.

Putting anything on the jacks, which are designed for only up and down motion, and and subjecting them to horizontal stress could cause major problems, IMHO.

Watched a dealership moving 5ers around with a fifth wheel attached to a front-end loader on a small tractor - looked very easy!!

We were picking our 5th wheel up after having some work done and they came around the building pushing it with a small Kubota loader with the bucket removed and a factory looking attachment for moving RV's. As he came around the building he had to turn sharply to avoid some parked RV's and go through a narrow gate. My wife thought he was going to wreck our North Point and got pretty excited. It was pretty funny, he parked it right where he wanted it just perfect. I told him he must have drove it a couple of times. That guy could park a 5th wheel just about any place with that Kubota.
