Air conditioner

Sometimes when I'm running my ac, it kicks off because it's reaching the appropriate temp, but then immediately kicks back on. Since I've sat here and registered for this site, it's kicked on and off maybe 10 times. Is this because it's so close to the correct temp, but not quite there? Is it built to do that?
The air is cool and it seems to be doing its job. Its currently 85 outside and 71 in here with the thermostat set to 65. (We work night shift, so it's important that the a/c is on during the day here in az).
A/c is a Dometic duo-therm 13,500 btu.

How long is your trailer? I have a 32' Mobile Suite. I only had one A/C 15,000btu and had to add another A/C 15,000btu to keep up with the heat here in AZ. It really help to cool the trailer down.

It's 38 ft but we do have a 2nd a/c in our rear bedroom. Maybe it's because the living space is too large for 1 a/c when you close the bedroom door?

The A/C should not operate that way--normally it would reach set temp, then cut off for several minutes. Suggest you check the thermostat for correct operation first.
Running one AC with the bedroom isolated might be a problem, but not that I have encountered--the thermostat is in the hall, and if the bedroom door is closed, it might have some influence on the stat. Have you tried using both the ACs at the same time but the stat turned up a couple degrees to keep from getting too cold?

Being in AZ in full sun might be a problem also....how hot is it there already?

It's already 80-85 degrees full sun. Yeah it just seems odd that it would keep turning on and off like that. Not sure how to check the thermostat for any malfunctions

I've had my MS for almost three years now and have the same problem with my bedroom ac. I've changed the thermistor, thermostat and circuit board up top in the ac. Still have the same problem and just have been living with it. I'm also thinking about replacing the ac but my gut tells me I'll have the same problem. I have also taken it to a DRV dealer and they can't figure it out.. Not very helpful am I?

Edit: I have also checked the foil tape separator up top and the two compartments are isolated from each other.

Please excuse the newbie naivety. On my home thermostat one sets a temperature and a range on which the AC comes on and turns off. i.e set at 65. Comes on at 66 and turns off at 64. Haven't really looked at my thermostat yet in the 5th wheel but it sounds as if it does not work the same as the house?

No, the ACs work just as in the house, but each AC has its own sensor for temps. The bedroom is a much smaller area than the living room, thus easier to cool/keep cold. The main living area AC has to cool a larger area and usually works harder/longer to get temps down.
As it gets warmer outside, sometimes the bedroom needs to be used to supplement the living area to keep it comfortable.
