I need to replace our toilet for something more user friendly. We are not small folks and prefer the taller units with an elongated bowl. I also want porcelain not plastic.

We have a 2006 King of the Road Royal Villa.

Two main choices come up on Amazon. Dometic and Aquamagic plus. I like the front foot flush pedal on the Aquamagic plus, but notice there are fewer reviews than on Dometic. I was comparing the Dometic 320 to the Aquamagic style plus. Both have sprayers, which seems to be a good feature to have.

I also wonder about repairs and parts.

What problems would you have installing a conventional commode like an American Standard from Lowe’s? You could flush and drain before moving down the road.

In theory the Lowe's commode idea is okay, however, sometime add up three days in a row how many times you flush your toilet and then multiply that times about 2.5 or so and you will see how fast your black tank fills.

I know your right, but it could b done. Being new and being only two people in the camper, I have no clue how quick a 35 gallon tank fills. I know it’s empty now and one Grey water sensor shows full. I hear they are not dependable.

How often do you drain your black water tank??

I’m looking at a Dometic or Aqua Magic style plus.
Not sure which way to go. I know I want porcelain.
One is side mount flush, the other in the front. Wondering what is more functional and durable??!!

Not sure but I believe the toilet in our 2011 DRV is Dometic. It has a foot flush mounted on the side - push down from the front to flush and push/pull up to fill the bowl with fresh water to aid in the flush and rinse afterward. It also has a sprayer to, as the previous owners phrased it, help with flushing and removing "skid marks". It also has an elongated bowl. Seems to work well and the wife is pleased enough with it.
