Is there an outlet in the bedroom to hook up the Dirt Devil hose? We have the 1 Dirt Devil outlet in the kitchen area, but it would make vacuuming a lot easier if there was another outlet in the bedroom. I've just never seen one up there.

No, there should only be one outlet near the center of the unit. It isn't too hard to put another one in, but it has to be wired to 120 volt to work.

The wife hated the central vac (dragging hose around) so we bought a Shark Rocket. Work's for us.

Even tho we had the vac outlet relocated to outside the control closet, we got a dyson portable that picks up stuff the Dirt Devil would miss even after several passes. There is an amazing amount of stuff the DD will miss, and the Dyson will pick up...

Thanks, wingnut, getting a separate vac might be the best idea.

As mentioned on your other post, DYSON cordless!

Where do you store the Dyson cordless? The only closet is in the bedroom & ours is pretty full of clothes, shoes, etc.

I store the Dyson inside the cabinet to the right of the entry door. Separate the motor from the wand and head. Keep attachments there also.

We considered the Dyson as well but found the price to be a bit excessive. Our shark breaks down into several pieces so it's easy to store in the closet. In addition since it's corded, we don't have to keep batteries charged.

The wife is happy and that's all that matters :)

Thanks for the suggestions, I'm definitely going to look at a separate vacuum.

I like corded also. Not a big area to cover and only need to change plugs once.
Usually cheaper and depending on what you buy, more powerful.

Either way--corded/cordless--way better vacuuming with the new Dyson/Shark models than the central vac ever hoped for.

Another vote for the Dyson cordless. Ended up buying 2, one for our home.
