For years I have been troubled over the lack of furnace heat in the potty room. I guess because it only impacts me in the winter (have to leave the door open to keep it warm) and it isn't that great a problem I have done nothing to fix it. But this year, this week in fact i got off the golf course and installed heat in the potty room. It was quite simple to do. Ordered parts on line from D&W Inc in Elkhart. 1 floor register 2 inch with damper, 1 section of 2 inch foil heater duct (had to get 25 ft) and 1, 2 inch furnace adaptor which goes in place of one of the round covers on the side of the furnace.

Hardest part of job was finding a 4 1/4 inch hole saw. Because of the way they converted the floor vent from 4 inches to 2 inches a 4 inch hole is too small and a 5 inch is too large. So cut hole in potty room, run duct to furnace make the connections and enjoy the warmth this winter. Be careful where you cut the hole in the floor, there are some spots where you can hit something. Where I put mine worked fine.

Nice, DRV put an AC vent in there, but no heat--go figure.

Nice mod! Guess we got lucky because we already have one in ours.

I've had 5 different DRV's, starting with 2008. All had bath heat from the factory. What years did not?

I'm with porkchop, we had a 2007 Select Suite and now a 2012 MS, both had/have a heat vent. Is this a certain model?

I blocked the return air behind the toilet because I felt it pulled too much air thru that vent and it was not filtered. This way all the air returns from above the pantry and is filtered now. Also by doing this more heat is available for the bathroom if wanted or it can be necked down by the floor vent.

Both DRV's we have owned had floor vents in bathroom.

My 2008 has heat in the bath. I don't necessarily like the location right next to the toilet but it's there. When we have electric we have a smaller heater that we use.

Well, I can freeze my A.. in the bathroom, but can't sweat it...must have started adding the vent in '06 or '07 due to some customer feedback.
