Is the "fireplace" in a DRV Tradition electric or gas?

Is the "fireplace" in a DRV Tradition electric or gas? I can't find anything in either the Tradition brochure or the DRV website that tells you!

I'm going to be looking at a Tradition tomorrow, and don't know if I will be able to tell by looking at the fireplace.

It's significant to us, because we favor electric appliances over propane, because the propane tanks (1) don't have a gage to warn you when you are getting low and (b) it's a hassle to change the LP tanks - especially when it is cold outside!

I think all RV fireplaces are electric. Never heard of a gas fireplace in an RV. Doesn't mean they don't exist but I've never seen or heard of one.

As far as I know, golf_bears is correct. Also, they are limited to 1500watts output I believe, no more than any other radiant unit.

Forgot to mention that they work great to heat the RV. We have a MS 36TK3 and the fireplace is a main source of heat for the entire RV until it gets down to the 30's F. At that point we turn on the furnace to keep the belly warm and to prevent freezing of water lines.

Haven't posted here for a long while but past units used an electric fireplace manufactured by a company named Dimplex located in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

Parts are easily obtained and maintenance to replace bulbs, over-heat pots etc., is very easily done.

I can concur with the assessment that the fireplace does a good job. We arrived in Amado, AZ today. It is supposed to hit 37 degrees by morning. Quite chilly outside right now too. The fireplace is going and we are watching the Thursday night NFL game on our 55" TV. The TV is excellent and the fireplace is keeping us quite toasty!
