For the first time since getting my '05 in '07, I have tv in both LR and BR and they work independently of each other. My wife is very happy about this. My 622 Dish receiver died and got a replacement--could not remember all the connections and could not get the Carryout to show any satellites. At the same time, got a 22" Vizio 1080p LCD for the bedroom, to go with the 32" Vizio we got for LR 3 years ago.
So found an independent Dish tech who came to the house and reset EVERYTHING and got both TVs to work right. WOW, how nice. Now just need to find treeless campsites...

We've had ours run independently in each of our 3- 5ers. Nothing worse than getting stuck watching ESPN on both TV's. With 2-DVR's, if nothing is on, we can watch whatever was taped after we went to sleep the night before.

We upgraded the SS 40" in the LR to SS 46" & the Sansui 19" was switched out with a Vizio 26". LED's are so much clearer.

We were late to the LCD party--not ready to change good LCDs for LED. Maybe when the next great tech advance to wallpaper-thin screens?
At any rate, got one more nagging problem out of the way.

Prior to this tech, several other Dish reps tried to get the BR TV to work and could not, and my other real upgrade was from regular dish to Winegard Carryout.

What I really need is to get the Level-Up installed and get it to place the Carryout where it can see the sky...

Yep, the Level-Up is nice. Good luck on getting it to place the Caryout in the correct place. ha Let me know how that works out for you.

I have been thinking about the carry out ant. Figured I could put it on top of the trailer in the corner by the ladder, run the cables down the ladder and under the trailer to the utility box. How do you like the carry out and do you get HD coverage?

Okie,
We have had the Carryout for 3 seasons now, and for the most part it does as advertised. To get HD, you have to have the HD receiver, plus both leads in from the satellite. And it needs 12-volt power from an inverter that I plug in inside the service bay. Wires go into the cable and satellite plugs in the service bay and straight to receiver--no splitters. Must use RG6 or better coax--59 won't do. Only real problem is that we don't use the trailer for several months and have to have Dish update the receiver each time--less than a month downtime is ok.
I have 50' of leads and can usually find an opening if it isn't completely canopied. Have had to place it on the roof, on the bed of my truck, on the picnic table, and so on, to find the opening at times. Outside of all that, it finds the satellites and I have HD Dish reception. To get anything local to where I am at, I have to change the 'service address' to the local zip code, then it brings in the major channels.
Would buy again...

When you change the service address does Dish give you a hard time or charge you for making the change & do you move a lot & thus change your service address a lot? I installed a Winegard Traveler a couple of months ago & will be moving soon.

USA,
The first time I asked for a 'service address' change, I got a lot of flack. Lately, they just do it. I only travel 5-6 times a year, and won't do this unless I am staying in one place for several days.
On another note, if you change the service address, it will cut off any scheduled recordings at the house address until you return the service address to the billing address.

Thanks for the info. We carry our receiver with us when we travel so we shouldn't have the recording problem. Did they ever charge you to change your address?

No, never been charged. Sometimes I have a problem explaining what I need, but if I insist I want the SERVICE ADDRESS changed, not the BILLING ADDRESS, then they finally understand. Changing back is easier since they are returning both addresses to same place.
Maybe I should make a note that we have 3 receivers, and the one in the trailer is dedicated to that. And pay extra for HD on it.
