I have a 99 International 4700 LP, and I've found an air leak in what looks like a pressure regulator that is located directly behind the main air tank, on the line that runs to the rear air bags.
My question is, what is this thing called and does anyone know where to get one, other than a Dealer?

Best spot to post this is here http://www.rvnetwork.com/index.php?showforum=14

MDT forum on Escapees. You will get great results there. You may need a better description of the issue so they can ID it better. Good luck!

Does your truck have a suspension dump switch? If so trigger the switch and listen carefully to that device. My International 4400 was of a newer model and had the dump valve positioned way back on a frame cross member directly in front of the rear axle but it was ordered as a cab chassis and yours may have had the valve repositioned forward by the upfitter.

After a trip to the Dealer with my part in hand. I found that it was a Pressure Relief Valve.
It had an air leak in the side where it was assembled (bad gasket) and was full of the goo that oil & water makes. Cost $39.50 and 15 minutes to replace it. Now all is good again and my air leak is solved.
Thanks for the help and advise.

Surprised you, didn't it, I bet you were expecting a huge bill for the small part!!

YES,
On my Dodge, the parts are sold by size. Small parts cost $500 & up, and big parts cost real money. A $160.00 part off the internet once cost me $560.00 at Dodge + 260 for labor, and it was odd, it only took me 10 minutes to put the same part in the 2nd time, and I was slowed down by having never done it before.
Clearly, International is not charging enough for these parts. They need to study how the Drug Companies and Oil Companies charge. Dodge certainly has.

I chuckled every time I changed out the fuel filter on my 4400. I think my jaw hit the counter the first time at the shock of having to pay something like $6. for a filter eight times the size of the dinky little thing in my early model Duramax that cost me $84. at my local "stealer".

Boy did those early Duramax's eat up the coin in a hurry when doing the yearly fluids etc..
