Wrench for slide adjustment?

Without getting onto a long painful story as to why I am attempting to adjust the slide myself, does anyone know what size and type of wrench is needed to loosen and tighten the nuts on the front of the bedroom slide? It is a very tight area and a regular box/open end will not fit. I believe it is 1 1/16" or 1 1/8". I tried channel locks and they won't work. I'm thinking maybe a tubing wrench. I don't want to go out and buy one then find out it won't work. Thanks

Mine is an 07 but should be the same. It is 1-1/8" and it is a tight fit. I think you are right in thinking of a tubing wrench. You might be able to rent one at a tool rental place rather than buy one, probably expensive for a one time use.

Any construction workers in park. It is a common size for us, fits all gas bottles, flange bolts etc. Should not need a tubing wrench. Wrenched that size don't slip if correct size.

Glen, if you couild see where he has to get into, you would agree that he needs a tubing wrench. I put my 1-1/8 wrench on the nut and can barly turn it till you hit interferance. The piston rod rides in a steel channel that prevents easy access.

I'll look at mine but do you realize how rare a 1 1/8 tubing wrench is?

One of our Millwrights had a set of Snap-on flare wrenchs, but I didn't know if they went upto 1-1/8 till I looked at the Snap-on web site. They list a combination flare wrench of 7/8"-1-1/8' for $63.95.

All my years as a Pipefitter I never ran into a situation where I needed a flare wrench that size, but they are out there if you want to pay the price.

I adjusted mine several times and while I dont remember the size I know I used a standard open end wrench.

The adjustment nuts for my bed slide are on the end of the hydraulic ram and are inside of a steel channel. An open end wrench will not fit inside of the channel that's why I'm thinking maybe a tubing wrench. My MS is a 2010 model. Other years may be different. If you look inside the battery compartment you can see the ram when the slide is out, when it is in the ram is above the middle compartment.

I have a MS 2010 and used channel lock pliers to loosen and tighten the nuts. I thoughr mine was out of adjustment but it turned out to be an adjustment under the bed.

Send me your email address and I'll send you some pictures. My bedroom slide would not close properly. I had to un-screw a bracket under the bed, move the slide forward 1/4" and re-install the screws. I worked with the DRV factory to resolve my problem.
