We had to replace the pump for our ice maker. Ever since it was replaced the ice tastes terrible. Seems to be a chemical taste. We thought at first that it was the park water, but we have visited several campgrounds from florida to colorado and it is still terrible. We have to buy ice to keep the bucket filled with decent tasting ice. Does anyone have a similar problem or know what the cause could be. Could it be the new pump?

It could be, but it is doubtful. We had the issue, but it cleared up, as even though the water tasted fine, when the chemicals in the water got concentrated in the ice, the last of a drink from the cup was horrible.

Replace your filter as soon as possible, which will help. Filters are cheap at Home Depot, I always buy the twin pack made by GE...here is a link from HD website http://www.homedepot.com/Appliances-Water-Dispensers-Filters-Water-Filters-Cartridges/GE/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1xk4ZarssZlo/R-100034332/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053

Try sanitizing your whole fresh water system.

Try sanitizing your whole fresh water system.

That is one idea but you really need to flush out the ice maker. That's hard to do unless you unhook the water supply hose and let it run a while. If you sanitize the system and get the chlorine in the ice maker you will still have to flush it the same way to get the chlorine taste out.
