Does anyone know how the Splendide 2Pc washer Dryer compares with the KENMORE? I see where DRV will install either.

If DRV won't install other brands, the dealer will.....don't overlook that as an option. I don't believe there is a compact front load Kenmore washing machine...therefore as a top load, it spins at a much reduced RPM than a front load....meaning more water left in the clothes that the dryer now must remove. Also check out Whirlpool compacts....they fit in our closet....with some "field engineering".

We had a choice of the Splendide Ariston or the Whirlpool. Both are front loaders. We had a Splendide Ariston stackable before and would buy again. However since owning the Whirlpool, which is a front loader we would buy another Whirlpool as you know our Mobile Suites 38 RSSB 3 has the W/D in the slide out and set side by side. After about 8 months we have been very impressed. As you probably know the Kenmore is a Whirlpool W/D. I believe the Whirlpool is quiter than the Splendide. We didn't have any issues with the Splendide Ariston. The Whirlpool was cheaper than the Splendide. You would be ok with either W/D, I do recomend the two more that a Splendide Combo which we also owned but if you have the room go with the seperate units. GBY.....

We also went with the Whirlpool washer and dryer. However, in regards to the dryer, it does not "match" the washer as it does not have a glass door that lets them look alike. The reason is because the one with the glass door is 240V only. We purchased them from a local appliance dealer and the RV dealership installed them for us. Installation cost was around $285 plus "supplies".

With the washer/dryer closet in the slide (like the RSSB), I decided that I didn't want to try to install that heavy item myself. It was well worth the money for that. Even with the installation costs, we spent a little less than what the Splendide units would have cost.

Also, with the front load washers, one's sheets don't get tangled up and tied in knots like an agitator type washer does. They also use less water and are gentler on the clothers. For those reasons, we didn't go with the Kenmore.

The Ariston was the only option on price sheet when we ordered our unit. We brought Kenmore/Whirlpool up to dealer, because they had been nearly trouble-free in our ES for 2 1/2 years. But they couldn't guarantee us the factory installation and we were under time constraints to get the unit and leave the area.

The dryer didn't dry as well as the Kenmore. And the washer isn't quite as easy to set. And being in the bedroom slide-out, it tends to shake the unit during spin cycle.

We had to replace it on Sunday after less than 2 years, with a different Ariston model because it went out earlier in the week. DH tried to see if it was something he could repair, because Camping World said they don't do repairs. CW said if it goes out, they give us a new one and ship ours back to Westland. Still waiting to hear what DRV's policy is on it.

When the washer goes out, we'll replace with another brand. If this dryer goes out, we'll also try another brand.

The main thing I like about a top load washer is that if the pump fails and you can't drain the water, you can open it up without dumping the water in the rig. We had to do that when the first washer failed twice when we got the trailer. The factory (DRV) replaced it after the first repair failed.

We like our Kenmore stackables with the top loading washing machine. They are not in the slide on the 38RL3 and is quiet and does not shake the fifth wheel. It is amazing how much clothes they will hold and we really like ours. Also with the top loading washing machine, it is on rails that slide out for easy loading and unloading, then just slide it back into normal position.
