I am getting a buzzing from the hot water heater on my DRV MS. It only happens when the hot water is flowing. nothing else makes it happen. Any ideas?

It's the check valve on the inflow side. It's a very common situation and fairly easy fix as long as you can get to the back of the water heater. You can buy new check valves and simply replace it easily.

Hi Everyone,

I am new here and I have a different view on this topic. I think sometimes buzzing is because of the unmatched elements in the heating system installed apart from the specific element which are the manufacturer specifications. pmkitchen Have you installed anything recently to the system? Please check for its make and you manufacturer specifications and model of your pump.

Thanks for your comment on this post. However, the check valve on the water inlet was the problem. DRV sent me a valve for free and that was that. I think that was back in the spring, yes, April.

I too had the same problem with the hot water, and found the same solution.

I have a 2005 DoubleTree Suites 36 ft. I came in from work and the water pressure was fine, then it went down to nothing. The only way to get water pressure is to turn the fresh water pump on and it sounds like a plane taking off. what could be wrong?

I assume you are living in the trailer? Connected to water? Have you checked that the water line isn't turned off? Just being logical...
If you have water pressure to the hose all the way to the trailer, then there is something in the line blocking it--could be the check valve just behind the water connection has broken and won't let water pass. No idea where the loud noise is coming from...

I installed a new check valve on the inlet last winter because I have not had one since the earlier check valve stopped the hot water flow.

Now with the new check valve it makes a noise when using hot water however this winter it is not as loud. Good thing is if you gut the old check valve this will give you time to purchase a new valve if you are not close to a store.
