Or whatever the voltage is. Problem is this:
When the unit was less than a year old the switch for the ceiling fan failed; it would just flop back and forth. You could make the fan work if you pushed real hard on the switch but would not stay on if you took the pressure away. DRV sent me a new switch and it is still ok.
Now, the light switch by the entrance door for the overhead sink lights is doing the same thing. These are kind of strange light switches: a line in and a line out. Question is can I use a regular house dimmer switch?
Thanks in advance.

No...you need a different dimmer switch than the regular dimmer switch. I found them on the internet and ordered two. I installed one above the table and still have one that I am not using.
forget the web page...sorry

Try this web site. I installed 2 of the white ones and they work great. I found them a little less expensive, but can't remember what web site i visited. Some company near Ft. Wayne Indiana.

The ceiling fan and overhead lights over the sink are 110VAC on a 2008. Responders to this post are referring to 12VDC circuits. A different situation.

I see no problem using a residential switch on 110 VAC circuits in the trailer. Anyone else have any information to dispute this?

I have searched many websites and have found 0 110 volt rv light switches. The apparent difference between rv and household switches appear to be that household type use a seperate electrical box to mount the switch in while the rv type have an integrated box/switch. No electrical wire attaching points open to the hole in the wall as in house type swithces.

So, I gave up and called DRV parts and they have a dimmer type switch for about $14 so I have one being shipped to me. The person who helped me, Greg, didn't think that it would be a problem to use a household switch but I elected to stay with rv stuff...

Update: DRV did send a dimmer, but it is a 12volt and won't work. Well, I finally decided to actually look at the switch and found it is a Pass & Seymour Lleland product. Couldn't find it on that website so discovered it is a kind of switch called a "self contained" switch and they are also "pass through" type. Found a website that carries them: http://mobilehomepartsstore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=SR for $5.99.

Might still try a regular dimmer but I have to see if there is enough space for an electrical box. They make boxes that mount the same way as the self contained switches and recptacles do with ears that rotate out to grip the back side of the wall.
