Turntable in GE Profile convection/microwave.

The turntable in the GE appears to be going bad.. Thumping and skipping as in missing some gears. Anyone else had this happen?? Was it a big deal to fix??? Closest Fixit guy is Sears home appliance.. No GE repair in the area..

You might first check that the drive is properly indexed with the plate. We thought we had a problem with ours and on removal and reinstalling on the dirve, found the problem went away.

Mine did the same thing when the roller platform got turned upside down. It is what the metal or glass plate rest on. Might double check and make sure this has not happen to you. It will fit either way but will not let the wheels turn if upside down.

Also check to make cetain that the little wheels are clean. If they get greasy they will not grip and this can cause a bumpy ride for the food.
