I have developed a water leak from the bottom of the refidgerator when the ice maker is on. I have been trying to find the source or connection of the water line that goes to the selinoid in the back of the fridge and I can't find it to cut it off for now. My hope is to cut off the water to the fridge until next spring. Where do I find it?? Thanks.

I had a 04 Alfa that I battled the same kind of leak. A few months before trading it in I found out what was causing my leak. Checking the outside water line & solenoid I found that the clear plastic water line that is incased in a black plastic tube, along with some electrical wires, which goes from the solenoid to the inside/ice maker, was where the leak was coming from. The way this was routed by the heating coils caused the clear plastic line to basically disintegrate, but you couldn't see it because of the black casing. I found this out by slitting the black casing and having the ice maker cycle through and found the leak. The more ice used, the bigger the leak/puddle.

Hope this helps, Gordon.

Thanks Gordon, that's exactly what it is doing.

After I turned off the water source to the ice maker and allowed time for the water line to drain out I found I still had a leak under the fridge. It wasn't constant like it was with the ice maker. I took off the panel under the fridge and after exploring for a while I found a leak from ths kitchen sink drain that goes to the flex pipe that connects the sink drain across under the fridge to the drain into the grey tank. The connection at the sink drain was loose. The trap washer or seal, what ever you call it, was stretched and I could slide the pipe out with two fingers. I guess from slide out action of the kitchen slideout. Anyway a new washer/seal and a little sealent amd leak cleared up. The icemaker leak can wait till I get home next spring.

Okie,

There was a semi recall on the RE3's for plumbing routing for the kitchen sink the other year. Did you get that work done on it?

No, I didn't hear about it.
