We went all season and only needed the furnace on our last trip, (good summer) and wouldn't you know it, no light off! Then the fire place only looked pretty, no heat! The heat pump was working till the temp outside went to 32.

Had a go at them today, removed the furnace and opened it up to access the ignitor, adjusted and it was good to go. A bit of a pain to access, but not hard to remove.

Also removed the fireplace and pulled the top off, found broken wire on the heat element. Soldered it up and we have heat for the storage season! ha
Fireplace is easy remove and install.

Always a sad day when winterizing and putting the Suite away! Long winter till we are camping again.

We used our furnace and heat pump earlier on the way down from the North. Now for the last week we have been in 90 degree temps in Tucson. According to the weather folks it will be almost a week before the temps drop down to the low 80's or high 70's. Sigh.

Bill, I guess I should give my old furnace a prod tomorrow, I never thought about that.
I'll need it when I bug outta here in a week or so.

Mine's has been pink-juiced for weeks now, as we have already seen temps down to -14* c.

I've done the deed as well but just for a few days as we will be in warmer temps within the next week on our run-to-the-sun! You'd think I'd learn, do the same thing every year assuming the worst only to have D/W pack the thing with foodstuffs well in advance so I end up having to keep heat in it anyway!

Rick,

Best to burn them bugs outta there! Hope she fires up! That was the first time I ever had any issues with a furnace.

10-4 on the -14!! Nothing like that here yet. We actually have had pretty good weather this week and next too!

Bruce,

You just wanted to stay current on winterizing didn't you? haar

Just come down and visit!
It was 33+ today is Mesa (That's Canadian Temp.)
Don't plan to use furnace or the "pink stuff" for a while.
Take care all!
ps. Itr's 9:40pm here - it's still great - air conditioner (both) still running to get the temp below 25!

Mike, needed to hear that! We will enjoy 17 degrees celcius here Monday and Tuesday only, then it will probably drop like a stone. We plan on beating feet across the 49th the Tuesday morning.

Bill: Remaining 'current' on winterizing is stuff "snowbirds" usually reserve for their HOUSE, not their RV! Dang-it-all!

Sandra has managed to empty the chest freezer this year and I'm hoping that's one more thing I can get rid of in the spring. 'Old people' don't need to be stocking up on food. LOL.
