DW and I were sitting outside yesterday and she said "What's that hanging down by the wheel?" I checked it out and the nut had come off the bottom of the shock and it must have jumped out of the bottom bracket as it was just hanging there attached at the top and was bent a little near the top.
I called DRV and they are sending a new shock and I will install here at CG.
Has anyone heard of this happening before ???

P.S. I also posted this in Suite Owner Forum

There have been several posts regarding shocks and shock mount failures. Some were due to really lousy spot welds instead of a real bead and others due to improper length and mount placement. Check all of your shocks and look to see if there is any binding or function issues. It doesn't hurt to check the torque on the bolts / nuts either as they can loosen if they were even tight to begin with.

That happen to me.The shock got caught in the upper part of the fender after the nut came off.It bent the shock realbad and the long bolt comming out of the shock was about 1/8 of a inch from the side of the tire.the whole bolt part came out of the mount baracket.I discover this at the end of a 250 mile trip.I replaced the shock and I put a extra nut on each of the four shocks at each bolt so that the two nuts locked against each other.

The shock absorber arrived here at the CG and I installed it yesterday.
I had to buy a heavier bottle jack as the one I had was only a 6 ton and it was not heavy enough to do the job safely. I bought a 12 ton and it jacked up the side of the trailer with ease. I double nutted all the shocks and hopefully will not lose any more.

The shock absorber boots (http://www.jcwhitney.com/shock-absorber-boots/c12602j1s17.jcwx) arrived here at the CG and I installed it yesterday.
