I bought two E2000i Hondas as part of Ike Hurricane issues. and they performed wonderfully--quiet and very fuel efficient. Much better than the typical 3500 watt generator you buy at Lowes or Home Depot. I used one of these for a few days too.

But I have a question. I used them independently, but can see situations where I would want to parallel them. I know I can buy the 30 amp cables and will. But what use are the "other" parallel cables (the ones that do not have the 30 amp plug) that are available.

Yes, they will give you a bigger generator (effectively a 4000 watt one) , but isn't the capacity limited by the 110 volt outlets which the circuit breakers protect at only a little more capacity than a single generator can out out. In other words, I cannot see that you gain much by parallelling the generators if you are not going to use the 30 amp adaptor.

What am i not understanding. Thanks.

You need to pick up a ready made Parallel kit. Avail from CW or any Honda genny supplier.
Try http://www.mayberrys.com/honda/generator/accessories/parallel-rv/rv30a.htm

It will set you up with a 30amp receptical to plug into provided by both 2000's.

A friend had good service from them, no tax, free shipping. They work great.

Thsnks, but I understand that. I want to know what use is the parallel cable set that is available that does not have the 30 amp recepticle.

As you may know there are two different parallel cable sets--one with the 30 amp recepticle , one without.
