this a return of last summer's problem with the big fuse by the Xantrex 3000. we replaced the orginal fuse with a bigger, badder fuse. It seems to blow when we leave the Inverter enabled while plugged to shore power. THis time we didn't notice that it blew and woke up to dead batteries.....bone dead. they are now at the shop being charged and waiting to see if they will hold a charge. What do you think..will they come back after being totally dead? And the refrigerator is out. Do I remember correctly that it won't run on AC if the batteries are dead?
the Air won't run because the thermostat must be DC and of course...the electric toilet doesn't flush.
The shop gave us one battery to keep us going...but we must have it hooked up wrong...wany pointers to help with that?
thank you everyone, I always know I can come here and get answers!

The 'fridge will not run without 12Volt, even when on whore power. Twelve volt runs the main board and the eyebrow board.

Since you have unit that is blowing fuses when plugged in it seems there is a problem with the Xantrex. I'd get that checked out or continue to have problems. It either is defective, too small for the load, is installed wrong or has a wiring problem further down the line. It may have also taken out fuses for other items. Have you checked all of the 12 volt fuses in the electrical box area inside the trailer?

Continuous fuse blowing is not something to take lightly. The fuses are there to protect wiring and prevent fires. If they are blowing, find out what is doing it before you up the fuse amperage to the point where the wires heat up and cause a fire. Your other 12 volt items (like the fridge) may also be more expensive than the Xantrex so be careful what you risk with it.

thanks for the tips. after we picked up the unit in Indiana there was a problem right away with the Xantrex 3000 so they sent us back to the factory for a replacement.....and this problem has been constant. Well we did go without problems for about 8 months but now it is back. Trying to find help stinks....even Xantrex tries to help but they are so technical that they cna't get it right either. right now we are in san diego so will try to find someone to address this....of course most mobile units are no help so have to tug the thing over someplace...a pain when fulltiming....i do not give up my living quarters easily....and rarely. Too snug in our cave. I have anolther situatioln to post.
