We are getting ready to order our first 5th wheel ever. We would appreciate any thoughts between the 36 TKSB3 MS and the 38 TKSB3 MS. There is actually only 14” total inches difference in the two and the extra is in the living area. Do you find the 38 is worth the extra $5,600 and is it any more difficult to pull or get into campgrounds? We would appreciate any and all information. We will be pulling with a one ton Diesel yet to be purchased.
Thanks: Dale |

We have a 38RL3 and find the additional 13" no issue towing or in camps. We like the layout but disliked the doors in the LR, I removed them and covered the opening. We do prefer the more open area, and if we were to do it again, we would choose a 38 with the layout like the RS with no separation in rooms and a long stand alone island.
You will find the truck choice for any of the MS units the same 36 or 38. The diff in wt is not that much.

We went from a 36TK3 to a 38TKSB3 (38RSSB3). The difference in the living area may seem minor, but the 38' gives you more LR floorspace and Cabinet space. Everything in kitchen (and bedroom level) seems to be identical.
You'll notice the difference mainly in the Entertainment center cabinets. Our 36TK had fireplace removed so we had one large lower cabinet and set of drawers. The 38 has 2 sets of cabinet doors, plus drawers on lower level and an extra cabinet door up high.
More space is also available between dinette table and recliners. There's a 3rd cabinet above the recliners. If we would have had time to wait longer for our unit, we would have added a desk unit instead of dinette and a 5' tall 24" wide bookcase on the wall between the 2 windows. We can still fit a bookcase in this space, but it's on my future improvement's list.
And we do have to watch the spaces we pull into. Not because of the exta foot of the unti, but because we added a tote on the rear hitch. So we extend out farther as it's always attached.[/img] _________________ Vickie & David

you have probably already ordered...but i wanted the tk3/sb3 and they said it couldn't be done...then a month later (or so) they started building them. i love my tk3 but would love the sb3 closets. we made 28 changes and we are happy with every one of them! _________________ CYNDY AND HOWARD

The 38 is definitely more livable. The extra space in the living room area is very noticeable. On the other hand if you intend to pull with a 1 ton, you will be significantly overloaded. _________________ Mike Nancy and the fuzzies
