refrigator will not run on gas mode.

On route to fla, i had plugged in for power at motel in Detroit area and while traveling the fridge switches over to gas mode. Opened door this AM and check light light was visible. Checked gas supply, had 1 tank over 50% full, 2nd tank empty. turned fridge on and off and gas light came on but after few minutes check light illuminated. stopped and filled up 2nd tank with 9 gallons of propane , switched tanks, stiill not running on gas, any suggestions? Thanks, jim

Try to bleed the gas by turning on all the stove burners for a couple min. Then try fridge again. If you listen real close you can hear the clicking of the ignition and then a puff when the gas lights.

If no joy, try tapping the gas valve in case there is a bit of debris in valve it may free up.

That is the first thing to try. If it does light but goes out, could be a component or poor gas pressure. I had a regulator fail with low press 3yrs old. It showed up on the furnace op though.

Couple of things--if you got air in lines, need to bleed it out, do the stove burners work ok? Also, are the batteries charged up--fridge needs good 12 volt to operate.
If the above is all good, then maybe the circuit board is kaput.

At least, its cold enough outside to not warm the fridge too fast if you don't open the door.

Go figure, plugged in the generator last night to run fridge on electric to cool it down, ran generator all night, honda,at the motel and when checking in morning the generator out of fuel, the fridge had switched over to gas mode and ran good all day with no problems. thanks for the replies as it was probably air in the lines.
