Brakes Pulsating while parked!

After a long drive and parked with the engine running. My foot is OFF the brake peddle in the truck. The brakes on the RV start to pulse off and on as if I was stepping on and off the brake peddle. There is no noticable drag while driving.

The brake Actuator in the RV has been replaced on the recall.

I have a 2011 F350 diesel and use the Ford brake controler. I have checked into the compatability of the Ford brake controler and the controler is not the problem.

What happens when you unplug the trailer from the truck?

Geoff....which recall? If all they did was cut wires and add a drip tray, you need to replace the acuator. If you still have the plastic tank Actibrake model its garbage and DRV will replace it for you.

Netjam;
There was a recall notice on the "Actibrake Actuater" a while back and mine was replaced by the factory with the "Carlisle Brake Actuator".

Can't offer any ideas then. All I know is I spent 3 years trying to get the Actibrake to work(unsuccessfully) before DRV replaced it. Good luck with your problem.

If it stops when the truck is unplugged from the trailer then the truck/controller is triggering the Carlisle actuator. It appears the truck and/or contoller are at fault.

Thanks for the input folks. Will be making arrangements for my dealer to check it out.

When DRV replaced your hydraulic Carlisle Brake Actuator like they did mine, I had to go on-line and purchase a CAM-HBA mod board to make that actuator compatible with the Ford IBC. Never had any issues since. This is the proper fix for any issues with the actuator to work on any brand IBC brake controllers, even for Dodge, Chevy, etc.

R.Gordon, you are correct. We had the 2009 Mobile Suites and the IBC wouldn't work, I installed the Prodigy and the brakes worked great. When we ordered the 2010 MS I had the option for the CAM-HBA add to make the actuator work. Now with the 2011 Chevy with the IBC the system works. When we had the Freightliner I also had to use the Prodigy. Highly recomend you have the CAM-HBA added, Drv may now be installing it on all their Suties now. The Prodigy worked with the CAM-HBA and of course it worked without the options . We are over 4,000 miles this summer and I set the IBC when I bought the new Truck and haven't reset it since.. Happy Trails....

I installed the CAM module on my 2010 Select. It was very easy, there are only 4 wires & they are color coded. You can order the CAM module directly from Carlisle. It's about $85. I have a 2011 Chevy 3500HD & the brakes work great with the IBC on the truck.
